Knotweed Services (UK) Ltd was commissioned to conduct a comprehensive site survey for suspected Japanese Knotweed (JKW) at the location specified above. Following our site visit on April 4th, 2024, we identified the extent of the knotweed infestation and provided the client with a detailed report outlining potential risks to the site and our recommended eradication strategy.
The site is a vacant plot earmarked for development into residential housing, flats, and parking facilities. Previously occupied by old buildings and garages, the area underwent demolition, during which asbestos and Japanese Knotweed were discovered. The knotweed (JKW1) was located within the site’s boundaries, at the rear of the former structures, measuring approximately 24 square meters
During the project, all necessary welfare facilities were provided to ensure the well-being and efficiency of the team on-site. A dedicated team of skilled professionals, including a site manager, site supervisor, technicians, and an office administrator, was deployed to oversee and carry out the operations. Their expertise and coordination were crucial in executing the project efficiently and effectively.
As part of the excavation and waste management process, CAT scanning was conducted to identify any underground services near the work area, ensuring that the excavation did not disrupt existing utilities. Once the site was thoroughly assessed, the Japanese Knotweed and contaminated soil were safely excavated. The excavated material was then carefully loaded onto wagons for removal.
The waste was transported to a licensed landfill site for disposal, in full compliance with EPA 1990 Duty of Care guidelines. A thorough soil analysis was performed to determine the most appropriate disposal location, ensuring environmental safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
The project was completed within the estimated timeframe of 7 to 10 days and remained on budget. Our team executed the project with precision and care, contributing to the successful transformation of the site into a future residential community. We are proud of the work accomplished and look forward to seeing the development thrive.
