Training Day with Dr Dan Jones (Advanced Invasives)

BACKGROUND

Knotweed Services (UK) Ltd staff were thrilled to attend a training day with Dr Dan Jones -(Advanced Invasives) in Cardiff on Friday 13th August 2021.

In 2018 Dr Dan Jones completed the world’s largest field-trial on Japanese Knotweed and  released The Knotweed Paper –  ‘Optimising Physiochemical Control of Invasive Japanese Knotweed’. So it goes without saying, that we were eager to meet with one of the leading names in the industry to advance our professional development and company knowledge.

During the day Dr Dan Jones covered lots of information regarding Japanese Knotweed and other non-native invasive species on the Schedule 9, with related elements such as: PPE, Herbicide Application, Treatment Preparation (including stem injection) Biosecurity Measures, Mitigation Measures, Site Safety and Monitoring.

In order to ensure we, as a company, are providing our customers the most up to date, data driven control methods, this training on the site where the field-trial was undertaken was invaluable to all our employees.
