BACKGROUND
We were instructed by our client to attend a residential property in the Cambridge area to carry out a Japanese Knotweed Survey. Our client had advised that they are currently developing on the area which is used for a driveway.
SITE SURVEY
Japanese Knotweed was identified within the boundaries of the property and on the neighbouring property.
Our client expressed they wish to fully excavate the Japanese knotweed due to the building works they have planned so a 5 year herbicide treatment plan wouldn’t fit there needs.
Plant machinery would excavate approximately 15m2 resulting in approximately 22m3 of soils to be removed. This would require 2 technicians, plant machinery and operative for 4 days. Backfill material would be required for the excavation zone and a root barrier would need to be put in place to stop are regrowth from the neighbouring property.
Before works could commence, a soil analysis would be required in order for landfill to accept the soils containing JKW.
Works Complete
We are pleased to report the successful execution of all planned activities, which were completed to the required standards within the designated timeframe and budget.
The client was able to proceed with their construction work seamlessly alongside our technicians’ efforts, leading to a mutually successful outcome.
Congratulations to the entire team for a job well done!
